Global Electric Bus Adoption to Triple by 2025

In the last decade, policymakers around the world have offered incentives to transit authorities and school districts in the form of direct and partial funding, credits and long-term mandates. The incentives promote electric buses and increase the industry’s exposure to the technology as costs continue to come down. These policies have made the greatest dent in China, which hosts nearly 400,000 e-buses and accounts for 98% of the global e-bus stock. North America and Europe are piloting and testing equipment, but also have significant heavy-duty clean transportation targets beyond 2020. This report provides forecasts for e-bus and e-bus charging infrastructure sales, the e-bus and charging competitive landscape, and current market size for China, Europe and North America.
